What is SEM? - SEM is Scanning Electron Microscope. - A type of electron microscope that produces images of a sample by scanning it with a focused beam of electrons. The electrons interact with atoms in the sample, producing various signals that can be detected and that contain information about the sample's surface topography and composition. | | | What is TEM? - TEM is Transmission Electron Microscope. - TEM is a microscopy technique whereby a beam of electron is transmitted through an ultra-thin specimen, interacting with the specimen as it passes through. | | | What is Sputter Coater? - When a glow discharge is formed between a Cathode and Anode using a suitable gas (typically Argon), and Cathode target material (commonly Gold) the bombardment of the target with gas ions will erode this target material, this process being termed "Sputtering"
| | | What is Carbon Coater? - Carbon Coater is one of the most advanced sample coaters available for coating non-conductive specimens prior to SEM X-ray analysis.
